The Cyprus Men's National Team concluded its June friendly matches with a 2-0 away victory over Liechtenstein.
The match was played at the Rheinpark Stadium in Vaduz, with Cyprus controlling proceedings throughout and creating numerous chances, including two efforts that struck the woodwork, before ultimately finding the net twice.
Marinos Tzionis opened the scoring in the 28th minute with a composed first-time finish inside the penalty area after an excellent pass from Angelos Neofytou. It was Tzionis' second consecutive match on the scoresheet, having also found the net against Slovenia.
Cyprus continued to dominate the match and looked likely to add a second goal. The visitors came close in the 38th minute when a powerful strike from Giannis Satsias crashed against the crossbar.
In the 52nd minute, Charalambos Kyriakou nearly scored directly from a corner kick, but the ball struck the post before being cleared by the Liechtenstein defence.
The second goal finally arrived in the 70th minute. Grigoris Kastanos delivered a clever free-kick to the far post, where Konstantinos Sotiriou met the ball with a powerful first-time finish to double Cyprus' advantage and seal the 2-0 victory.
